At Hotel Villla de Ábalos we suggest you live this gastronomic experience without leaving the hotel, in our own restaurant “Merche´s Cuisine”. Here everything is homemade, sauces, cooking, marinades, pickling; Each dish and its preparation goes through the expert hand of Merche. You will discover the authentic flavor of vegetables cooked al dente, stewed meats or desserts.

Merche, a traditional and at the same time innovative hand. Self-taught and attending several cooking courses at the Basque Culinary Center, Merche has forged herself and today is able to get the maximum flavor out of our local products. Zero kilometer products, from small nearby suppliers who take care of their products in detail and are the basis on which Merche works to offer you an authentic gastronomic experience. THE GASTROBAR
GASTRONOMY AND GOOD WINES FROM LA RIOJA
Our gastrobar is a gastronomic space located inside the hotel. A meeting place for neighbors, winemakers and winegrowers where you can try different locally produced wines with a spectacular tapas and portions menu designed by Merche.

PAIR YOUR GASTRONOMIC EXPERIENCES
No less important and as a complement to a good gastronomic proposal is the Wine List. Here, José Luis, with extensive experience in viticulture and sommelier, personally chooses the wines on the menu. Wines from small wineries from the Rioja Denomination of Origin that pair perfectly with the restaurant’s dishes. Among them, our EMPATIA wine cannot be missing. Wine made with grapes from our own vineyard.
Since 2005 we have taken care of 3 hectares of family vineyards that are more than 60 years old, some even centenary. In them we carry out very interesting viticulture activities

We have participated in the Basque television gastronomic program «Juego de carta», a program where the best Basque gastronomy restaurant is chosen in various parts of Spain.
